What is EDC?
Craig Petty:
For me, an everyday carry item isn't a sponge ball, it isn't a deck of cards. it isn't
an American dollar... an EDC for me is something that would organically look
like it would make sense to be in the wallet.
So a receipt (for example), a credit card... something like that - that, for me is an EDC... it's an everyday carry because if I was out and about, and somebody said "hey show me a trick" and I go... "really? I have anything on me... um.. I've got some receipts... here I've got a credit card.. here I've got some stamps... here whatever" it is [stuff] that you'd keep inside your wallet.
For me that's the best type of item to put inside a wallet because it organically looks like it's meant to be there, so it's almost like you're performing "off the cuff".
And I think it's really important as a magician to have those items inside your wallet, simply because I've met so many magicians where somebody says "Hey show me a trick" and they go "well I've got nothing on me and I can't..." and what you're basically saying is - the magic is in your props.
I think you should always be able to perform some magic - whether that's be something impromptu or having something in your wallet.
